I once again packed my bags and ready to go. This time it’s for the Agrilink Convention in World Trade Center Manila.

Attending to this kind of event is a challenge for me, ofcourse I am in the Technology Industry and not a farmer. But on the other hand I am excited as this experience will open my mind to a new world that I don’t know of. I believe the knowledge I can get from this event can help me and our goals in ph.HungryGeeks.org mission statement.

First day was very exciting, seeing a lot of people looking forward for the opening of the exhibit area. After the cutting of ribbon they finally opened the exhibit area and as I get inside I saw a different world, a world that is new to me, a world that opens my mind to a great opportunity, I say who says we don’t need farmers anymore…

Attending the seminar was pretty eye opening as well, here they have discussed so many techniques and technology that can be used by farmers, right now everybody wants organic farming, in the Philippines right now they are using organic fertilizer mixed with the soil. I was looking for somebody that has a booth for aquaponics and hydroponics but it seems I have no luck. What does this means? I say it’s an OPPORTUNITY for ph.HungryGeeks.org to help open up the minds of the people with the new ways like aquaponics, hydroponics and vertical farming.

As a conclusion I say technology is coming to the Philippines and we in ph.HungryGeeks.org will do our best to be one of the entities that makes this happen by using technology to help people not only in farming but in spreading knowledge aswell.

Christian, I have also been working on technology concepts as applied to Agribusiness; I’d love to hear more about your thoughts and ideas on related concepts you are familiar with.
