Balele, Iba: Christian Brillo’s Mission

Christian Brillo’s mission began in Balele, Iba, with spreading the good news about FreeRice.com. Using hands-on demonstration, he introduced a willing group of people to what they could expect to gain from computers – basic computer operations and exploring (browsing) the vast Internet. He explained the Internet’s power  to help people, regardless of their status in society. After letting his new friends get the feel of browsing the Internet, he then demonstrated how easy it was to help feed hungry people all over the world by simply playing the FreeRice game. He emphasized how the Internet Website, FreeRice.com,  helps feed people all over the world and receive good training at the same time, for FREE!  As Christian said, “There is this and more available to you and to all through our new Website, HungryGeeks.org.”

In addition, Christian informed his informal class how HungryGeeks.com can help them find online (computer Internet) jobs. Seeing how eager these people were to learn, he shared the story of his own success with them. They learned about Christian’s own, long-held dream and how Mr. Jim Wiseheart, the President of HungryGeeks.com, helped him to achieve his present success in making that dream come true.

People of Brgy. Palangian thanked Christian for the knowledge and inspiration he shared with them. To show their gratitude, they taught Christian how to make beautifully crafted bags, curtains, wallets, mats,and more out of recycled and brightly colored straw.They asked Christian to share this artistic and useful craft online so it could help other communities the same way it helped them. Christian promised to create a video tutorial about these valuable craft skills and share them with the computer world. Members of this attentive and sharing group said that there is no limit to what you can do with recycled materials if you use your creativity.
